‘Unmask the Champion’ is this year’s Canyons School District Education Foundation Fundraising Gala theme. As we focus on our commitment of inclusion throughout Canyons District, we will shine a light on Unified Sports champions and our high school scholarship recipients. Each sponsorship level provides direct support to students in Canyons.

Unified Sports is a partnership with Special Olympics which joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. Funds raised will help cover uniforms, gear, equipment, transportation, and tournament expenses, as well as college scholarships for deserving high school students.

FAQ

What is the Gala?

One of Canyons Education Foundation’s annual fundraisers; an evening of fun, fundraising and a chance to get to know other CEF supporters, Canyons Education Foundation Board Members, Canyons Board of Education Board Members and District Administrators. Canyons is a district of distinction and we are eager to share our story.

What should I wear?

The Gala alternates between formal and casual depending on the year, this year is more formal.  Cocktail / Semi-formal attire preferred.  A suit for men and a dress for ladies.

What to expect?

The evening starts off with hors d’oeuvres, photo booth, socializing and a talented string quartet from one of our high schools. The night will then continue with a sit-down dinner and program which includes celebrating the scholarship winners followed by our guest speaker, Chris Waddell. Chris is an accomplished Paralympian, author, speaker and so much more. His story is truly inspiring!

The online auction opens March 27, the day before the event, and will end as we close out the evening at the gala. Everyone is asked to register prior to the event for ease of bidding. Auction items will be at the gala to preview, and winning bidders can take their goods with them.

Why should I attend?

Your attendance is important and appreciated! This is a great opportunity to engage with others in the Canyons community. Your attendance also helps raise needed funds for student scholarships and for the Unified Sports Program in Canyons schools. Unified Sports is a partnership with Special Olympics which joins students with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. The two biggest sports are soccer and basketball at the high school level. We are looking to grow the program into middle and elementary schools! If you want to put a smile on your face, come to a Unified Sports event.

Can I participate if I can’t attend?

YES, register for the auction and bid on items. If you win, your winning items will be available the following Monday in our office. You can sponsor a scholarship recipient’s ticket for $250 or just donate to support the efforts of the Canyons Education Foundation.
