Canyons Education Foundation is sponsoring a new Canyons Strong college scholarship for a senior at Alta, Brighton, Corner Canyon, Hillcrest, Jordan, and Diamond Ridge/Entrada high schools.
The Canyons Strong Scholarship seeks to reward a senior from each high school in the district who has financial need and has shown improvement or exemplary effort in working toward the goal of post-secondary education. We are looking for seniors that have “risen” above difficult circumstances either in family life, financially, emotionally, scholastically, etc. and are still dedicating themselves to furthering their education.
Canyons Strong Scholarship award is a total of $2,500 ($1,000 for the first year and $1,500 for the second year). A two-year scholarship provides incentive and encourages students to continue their education. To receive 2nd year funds, recipient must show proof of continued enrollment.
All applications will be reviewed by the Canyons Education Foundation Scholarship Committee.
- Candidates must be graduating from a Canyons District school and show acceptance into an accredited university, college, or post-secondary program.
- Applicant must complete the online scholarship application and submit all required information.
- Scholarship checks will be issued to the attending university, college, or post-secondary program and the scholarship recipient.
- Scholarship funds are for tuition, student fees, or educational expenses.
- Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
- This award can be deferred for up to two years with notification.
Please note: Scholarship winners will be recognized at the Canyons Education Foundation Gala on March 27, 2025, and at their individual high school senior awards night.
Scholarship winners will be videotaped by a district film crew and footage will be used by the Canyons Education Foundation for the gala and the Foundation website. In-person attendance at the Gala is optional, but encouraged, for the student and one family member.
Application deadline is Friday, February 28, 2025, by 5:00 p.m.

- When do you plan to begin college classes?
- Tell us about yourself and why you warrant a scholarship. Be creative and thorough in your answers. Share your unique story, tell us why you are Canyons Strong.
- Provide a .pdf scanned copy of your university, college, or trade school acceptance letter, email, or other confirmation communication.
- Provide at least one letter of recommendation from a teacher, administrator, counselor, or coach telling us why they personally believe you deserve this scholarship.
